The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS) for health professionals. We support safe, professional practice and behaviour by Australia’s 800,000+ registered health practitioners.

About the role

The Ahpra Regulatory Experience and Engagement Team (REET) develops strategies and implements initiatives that improve the experience, trust and confidence of people connecting with Ahpra and National Boards. We are committed  to the work in Identifying and minimising distress for practitioners involved in a regulatory process with recommendations to be implemented progressively over 2023–25.

This role has two key and distinct parts to it. Firstly, implementing the Expert Advisory Group recommendations and actions relating to minimising practitioner distress. This is expected to be approximately 40% of the role. The Project Manager liaises with the assigned leads on their agreed actions to check, encourage and review progress, seeking their buy-in and commitment to delivering on-time and within budget (where relevant).

The other 60% of the role involves assessing the need for an internal support service or a tailored approach for supporting and/or referring at-risk practitioners who are involved in our regulatory processes. This work culminates in delivery of an evidence-based options paper for relevant decision makers with clear, researched considerations supporting a recommended approach.

This is a full time, 12 month fixed term contract.
