The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. By understanding the data that is relevant to decision making and providing in depth analysis where necessary, Finance & Procurement supports the strong functioning of the Agency Management Committee, Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee, the National Executive, all fifteen National Boards and our co-regulatory partners.
Our Management Accountants seek to support the Financial Reporting and Analysis team in provide valuable insights and financial support to Ahpra Directorates and National Boards (as required). The focus of the role is to support the team in preparing and analysing financial information and to actively promote standardisation of activities, process improvement, automation and efficiency increases.
This is a full time fixed term position based in our Melbourne, Brisbane offices, working a hybrid arrangement.
In this role you will:
- Supporting Finance Business Partners in the preparation of analysis and commentary on financial performance for allocated Directorates and/or National Boards.
- Providing financial and accounting support to Senior Finance Business Partners, strategic finance, financial control and procurement.
- Ensuring quality transactional input to all systems.
- Undertaking the month end accounting and reporting process, including the development of complex journals, review/analysis of financial results and other month end activities.
- Developing budgets and ongoing financial forecasts (and associated data).
- Preparing and delivering scheduled reports to stakeholders including Directorates, National Boards and management.
- Actively supporting a continuous improvement culture, both on a personal and team level (challenging the status quo).

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting and CPA/CA qualification (or actively working towards this).
- Experience in management accounting activities, including month end processes and providing analysis of financial outcomes.
- Experience in report preparation.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Active participation in process improvement activities.
- Experience in work environments where a high level of attention to detail is required.
- Previous experience with Board reporting and managing financial budgets for projects (desirable)
- Experience using Anaplan or similar programs (desirable)
