The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

 

This is a full time, fixed term (6 months) contract and can be based in Melbourne, Sydney Brisbane or Adelaide.


About the role

The Program Manager, Business Transformation (PMO), reporting to the National Director, Business Transformation, plays a key role in supporting the delivery of transformation program objectives. This position ensures best practices in program governance, portfolio management, and project methodologies, aligning them with strategic goals and business cases. Responsibilities include enhancing stakeholder engagement, managing program governance forums, mitigating risks, overseeing contracts and finances, and driving continuous improvement. As part of the senior leadership team, the role develops and standardises program delivery frameworks, enabling visibility into portfolio performance to achieve successful transformation outcomes.

About you

You are an accomplished leader with expertise in refining PMO methodologies, governance, and operating models, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. With strong oversight capabilities, you expertly manage project lifecycles to meet milestones, timelines, and budgets. You bring a proactive approach to risk and issue management, while excelling in financial oversight, resource planning, and stakeholder collaboration with executives, IT leaders, and external partners to drive strategic outcomes.

Your ability to foster continuous improvement and embed a culture of excellence ensures the delivery of successful program transformations. You are highly skilled in performance tracking, leveraging insights to support governance groups, and championing change management and technology adoption. Your experience in procurement, contract management, and budget coordination further demonstrates your capacity to deliver transformative results in complex organizational settings.
