The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

These are full time positions, ongoing and fixed term (up to December 2026) and can be located in any Ahpra location.
About the Role
This role is central to ensuring smooth and effective governance within Australia’s national health regulation framework. As a Regulatory Secretariat Officer, you will provide high-level support to Boards, Committees, and Chairs, working closely with Ahpra staff to maintain compliance and operational excellence. Your contribution will help uphold the integrity of regulatory decision-making and deliver a professional, customer-focused experience for all stakeholders.
In this role you will:
- Provide governance and compliance support to Boards, Committees, Chairs, and Ahpra staff, ensuring decisions align with legislation, policies, and terms of reference.
- Coordinate all aspects of meetings - room bookings, catering, materials preparation, and post-meeting follow-up - across in-person and virtual formats.
- Prepare and distribute agendas and meeting papers in the correct format and within agreed timeframes.
- Maintain accurate electronic filing systems in line with Ahpra’s records management policies for easy retrieval and audit readiness.
- Manage communications with internal and external stakeholders, consulting with program directors, managers, and committee members on agenda items and papers.
- Perform general administrative tasks, including processing financial reimbursements.

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience providing secretariat and administrative support, including coordinating boards and committees.
- Exceptional documentation skills, with accuracy in minute-taking, strong formatting, editing, and proofreading abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in key information systems and tools, including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Pro, SharePoint/Diligent Boards, and video/web conferencing platforms.
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver a broad range of activities within deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to confidently consult and liaise with program directors, managers, national staff, and board/committee members.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet operational needs, including varying meeting schedules.
- A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to work in a close virtual team and uphold Ahpra’s values.
