Ahpra is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead our national facilities function and ensure our eight offices operate smoothly, safely and consistently. This role brings together operational excellence, strategic thinking and strong people leadership to support our people in delivering safer healthcare outcomes.
This is a full‑time fixed‑term contract until 31 December 2026. This role can be located at any Ahpra office, with a preference for Melbourne.
Reporting to the Senior Partner Change and Property, and sitting within the People and Culture function (Employee Services), you will lead a national team of 10 Facilities Representatives and deliver a high‑quality, consistent workplace experience for employees, Board and Committee members.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives when working with diverse stakeholders and can balance day‑to‑day facilities operations with longer‑term planning, compliance and continuous improvement.
You will oversee facilities operations, tenancy and contractor management, systems administration, sustainability initiatives and national service cohesion. You will work closely with the Physical Security Manager and the Employee Services leadership to provide a seamless, customer‑focused service. Interstate travel will be required on occasion.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a nationally consistent facilities management approach across all eight Australian capital city Ahpra offices.
- Lead and support Facilities Representatives across all locations, serving as both a people-focused leader and the central escalation point for operational matters.
- Oversee tenancy operations, building management relationships and contractor performance.
- Provide expert advice on compliance requirements, including WHS and building codes.
- Expert knowledge of technology systems including service request and desk booking programs
- Oversee maintenance schedules, risk management, reporting and opportunities for service uplift.
- Balance tactical operational response with strategic planning to enhance safety, efficiency, sustainability and user experience.

About You
You are a confident, steady and experienced people leader who builds trust, manages competing priorities and engages effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior executives, operational teams and external providers.
As the ideal candidate, you will bring:
- Advanced knowledge of Australian facilities‑related compliance requirements (e.g., WHS, building codes).
- Proven people leadership across multiple locations, with a track record of developing and supporting diverse teams.
- Expertise in contract and risk management; advanced project management skills highly regarded.
- Experience with facilities ticketing, contracting and workspace systems.
- Strong budgeting, business planning and reporting capabilities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills, particularly under pressure.
