The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.
We are seeking an experienced Recruitment Coordinator who will play a pivotal role in supporting and contributing to the delivery of our Talent Engagement and Attraction (TEA) plan, ensuring the right people are in the right roles, in the right place, and at the right time. We are a key part of moments that matter in the employee lifecycle and we are building a workforce that is agile, curious, capable, and future ready.
This is a fixed term (up to 12 months) full time position and can be located in our Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide offices. We work a hybrid arrangement with our Flexible working policy.
About the role
As part of the People Strategy and Reform team, you’ll deliver a high‑quality, end‑to‑end recruitment service that is professional, timely, and genuinely people centric. Reporting to the Recruitment Manager, you’ll partner closely with hiring managers and stakeholders to provide trusted, practical advice and deliver inclusive recruitment outcomes aligned to best practice and Ahpra’s kind and considered approach.
You’ll contribute directly to the Talent, Engagement and Attraction (TEA) plan by strengthening internal and external partnerships, supporting recruitment capability uplift, and continuously improving how we attract and engage talent. By effectively using data, feedback, and technology, you’ll enhance recruitment processes to improve transparency, efficiency, and fairness, while supporting campaigns and engagement initiatives that reinforce Ahpra’s reputation as an employer of choice.
About you
You’re an experienced recruiter who thrives in a collaborative, purpose‑driven environment and brings a strong, person‑centred mindset to your work. You build positive relationships through excellent interpersonal skills, actively listen to understand needs, and communicate with clarity and empathy. Comfortable working autonomously, you manage competing priorities with confidence, apply sound judgement, and know when to escalate to achieve the best outcome. Ideally, your experience is from a similar background - for example, statutory authorities, regulatory or legal - and you are aware of the work Ahpra does.
Naturally curious and solutions focused, you enjoy asking “why” and looking for better ways to work. You bring a proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement, value inclusive recruitment practices, and are confident using recruitment systems or HRIS platforms (with PageUp experience highly regarded). Above all, you embody Ahpra’s values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, and Achievement and are motivated by work that makes a meaningful difference.
