 The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) is the national agency responsible for administering the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (National Scheme) in partnership with 15 National Boards for the regulated health professions. 

This is a full time permanent opportunity that is based in Melbourne working a hybrid (2 office days) arrangement. 

The Senior Network Engineer role provides specialist technical advice and is responsible for managing the operation of Ahpra's networking infrastructure, firewalls, connectivity and telephony, delivering a comprehensive end to end support function across Ahpra’s infrastructure portfolio that supports and enables the ongoing operations of all Ahpra employees and Board members. Also, ensuring a 24x7 service level operation for Ahpra customer facing presence and supporting systems and infrastructure.

In this role you will:

  • Ensure high availability, stability, performance, security, and efficiency of the entire Ahpra network and associated services by performing effective design, preventative and unplanned maintenance, implementation, continuous improvement to best practice and support activities.
  • Administer, maintain and support Ahpra’s on premise and Cloud network infrastructure, firewalls, wireless and switches.
  • Provide support for voice and video connectivity. In particular: MS Teams Telephony, SBC, and other Video Conference systems.
  • Ensure services are restored promptly and effectively whilst minimizing adverse effect on business operations when incidences occur, using ITIL methodology.
  • External vendors performance is managed in line with agreed service and performance targets, including managing and tracking incidents, service requests and raising orders.

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following:

  • Information Technology or software engineering degree or equivalent
  • Industry certifications in Cisco (CCNA, CCNP or CCIE), F5, Palo Alto desirable
  • Advanced experience in networking infrastructure design and support in a highly regulated environment.
  • High level experience with technical support, focused on Cisco, Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, Juniper technologies
  • Strong experience with F5, Prisma and Palo Alto firewalls are essential
  • Advanced experience designing and implementing networking solutions to and within Public Cloud (Azure) platforms
  • Experience in Network Security
