The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works with 15 National Boards to implement the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme). The National Scheme operates Australia-wide and is a vital part of the Australian health system.
Ahpra is entering an exciting phase of reform and renewal. With strong signals from government and the community, it has both the mandate and the momentum to make meaningful change.
New Leadership Opportunities
To support the national reform priorities and meet the evolving needs of Australia’s health system, Ahpra has established three new Directorates:
- Health Workforce
- Health Regulation
- Corporate Affairs and Regulatory Governance.
These Directorates will focus Ahpra’s efforts where they matter most, strengthening regulatory performance, eliminating racism from healthcare, improving public trust and building a more responsive, inclusive and future- ready health system.
