The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS) for health professionals. We support safe, professional practice and behaviour by Australia’s 900,000+ registered health practitioners.  

About the role  

The Ahpra Regulatory Experience and Engagement Team (REET) develops strategies and implements initiatives that improve the experience, trust, and confidence of people connecting with Ahpra and National Boards.

This role is a trusted expert in engagement, working collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders—including community members, consumers, practitioners, and the public—to deliver meaningful engagement outcomes. It plays an important role in supporting National Boards and Ahpra to engage effectively through high-level strategic thinking, external-facing initiatives, and inclusive engagement practices.

You will lead and contribute to projects that increase the visibility, transparency, and responsiveness of Ahpra’s regulatory work, ensuring that diverse voices are heard and considered in decision-making processes.

This is a full time, 12 month fixed term opportunity to cover parental leave, available in any of our Ahpra offices.

About you

You are a strategic thinker who can see the big picture while translating vision into practical, impactful engagement strategies. You bring a strong understanding of stakeholder dynamics and are skilled at building collaborative, sustained partnerships across diverse groups—including consumers, community representatives, practitioners, and the broader public.

Your listening skills and ability to engage with empathy and respect will be key to fostering trust and credibility. You have experience in designing and executing engagement strategies in complex environments, and you’re comfortable managing multiple projects with competing priorities.
